Here at MPM we helped a group of Undergraduate Engineering Students at The University of Leeds to build the composite body for a race car, as part of their course. The group of students took their finished car the Gryphon One to Silverstone to participate in the Formula Student Race amongst other Universities from around the world.
Ben and Dylan have conquered the iconic Coast 2 Coast route – a gruelling 150 miles and 4500 metres of ascent from Seascale to Whitby. The popular route is completed by hundreds every year, usually in 4 or 5 days – Ben and Dylan managed a breakneck 10 hours and surpassed their target, reaching £2,525 in aid of the charity Whizz Kidz.
Attendees ranged from current customers to new faces to visit our site in Pudsey, Leeds. The event was promoted through Composites UK; one of their aims is to bring companies together throughout the supply chain to create partnerships. This encouraged 6 companies to attend through their network. MPM also welcomed back Rob Whieldon from Leeds University from Ben’s time on the Goldman Sachs 10KSB programme.
We recently attended the Yorkshire Apprenticeship event at the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds.
Apprenticeships Yorkshire is an event organised by Ahead Partnership, a not for profit organisation that provides support and creates links between businesses, schools and community groups.
After a successful charity Ride in 2014 in the form of the Fred Whitton Challenge, which raised more than £1,700 for the Pituitary foundation, Ben Wilson and Dylan Wilson are hoping to raise £2,000 in aid of Whizz Kidz; taking on the gruelling challenge of riding 150 miles – from Seascale to Whitby.
We rounded off a fantastic 2015 here at MPM with a significant 13% growth in sales and we are aiming for 25% by the end of this year.
We achieved high targets for our operations and growth of employees too.
A fantastic Christmas party was had by everyone last Friday night at Headingley Stadium; home of Leeds Rhinos RLFC and Leeds Carnegie Rugby Union.
