Why MPM Utilise KPI's

KPI's (Key performance indicators) are essential for businesses to integrate into their workplace and they have long been used to quantifiably measure the performance of organisations, helping them evaluate the success of the organisation, or a particular activity in which it engages in!

Why are KPI's so important?

Every organisation should have KPI's as they are essential for continued growth and development. They give the organisation and employees something to aim for, empowering employees and keeping everyone motivated to achieve that goal! Without KPI's you have nothing to achieve and nothing to drive your organisation or your employees forward! KPI's can also detect potential problems within the workplace and help develop solutions to these problems.

Why is it essential to utilise KPI's and why do MPM use KPI's?

A business without KPI's
Imagine a business without KPI's, (many companies don't use them) how does your team have goals and targets? How do they know when they have achieved something? Short answer is, they don't. If your team have nothing to strive for, no targets to hit, then they will likely lack motivation and will never understand what works well and what doesn't work well!

Analysis and support
The KPI system is a constant analysis process, where you can continually track where your team/company can improve. It highlights areas where your team may be struggling or having issues with e.g. time management, production quality etc. helping you support and facilitate improvement.

Customers
Customers are the backbone to any industry, and in whatever you do, you should provide a high quality service and produce high quality products. KPI's ensure your company is running as slick as possible, to guarantee your customers receive true value in every area.

Funding
KPI's help with raising funding, as you can demonstrate you have true and up to date figures to assist business planning.

Taking the emotion out of decision making
Imagine you have a difficult decision to make, wouldn't the decision be a lot easier if you took the emotion out of the decision; KPI's take some of the emotion out of decisions and issues as the variables you are looking at are factual. This helps make decision making a lot more clinical and fact based.

KPI's are essential in business; they give your team and company something to strive for, highlighting potential issues in the workplace allowing you to respond and support your team.  They ultimately help guarantee that your customers receive a quality service.
