We are proud to announce that Nick Robinson from our production team has been shortlisted for employee of the year at the Composite UK awards.
The award aims to recognise employees who go above and beyond for their company, not only giving 100% when undertaking their role but has a “can do” attitude relating to their work and colleagues.
Nick initially joined MPM as a laminator in 2010 before gaining his NVQ level 2 in Business Improvement Techniques in 2011 and becoming a qualified trainer in 2013. He has assumed the responsibility for improving performance and productivity in his area. He takes a lead in the training of both new starters and established operators who are learning new skills. In addition to this, Nick has also played a key role in the following:
- The development of manufacturing standard operating procedures; and the introduction of standard times
- The development and implementation of MPM’s 5S and visual management systems
- The operation of a Kaizen system for continuous improvement
- The training and development of manufacturing apprentices
"Nick always puts in 100%, it has been a great pleasure watching his progress both as an individual and within MPM. His knowledge of hand-lay and chop lay-up is excellent, he is always looking to learn new ways and improve his speed and skill level. I am proud to say that Nick is a great ambassador for the MPM culture and values we hold and I am confident that he will continue to progress at MPM."
Ben Wilson, Managing Director.
