Fibreglass Moulds

The aim of a fibreglass mould is to make the surface of the mould as smooth as possible, here at MPM we pride ourselves on the quality of every mould

CNC Machining

CNC machines can create parts out of a wide range of materials including wood, metal, foam and high or low density model boards, making the process extremely fast, accurate and beneficial to many projects.
We can work with a client's own design or offer a bespoke design service if required.

Hand Lamination

MPM offer high quality products in either high or low volume. Our flexibility and skill allow a wide complexity of projects, from bath panels, shower trays, ambulance parts, wheel chair access ramps, water tanks and many other products.

Resin transfer moulding at MPMResin Transfer Moulding

Resin Transfer Moulding or Closed Moulding is a cleaner and a more efficient and effective way of producing a composite part. Here at MPM we can provide a full complete service right through from the drawing concept to designing, producing and commissioning closed mould tooling. Manufacturing the composite part itself and consulting on the different range of complex materials to be considered is also an area in which MPM prides itself in. Providing the customer with the service, quality and trust that strengthens working relationships and provides a strong future together.

What is Resin Transfer Moulding?

Resin Transfer Molding or RTM, is a low pressure, closed moulding process which offers an accurate and high quality surface finish composite molding, using liquid thermoset polymers reinforced with various forms of fiber reinforcements.

How does resin transfer moulding work?

Resin transfer moulding consists of the following stages:

  1. Glass fibre reinforcing material is placed into a closed mould
  2. The mould is closed
  3. A special machine which can measure amounts of resin and catalyst is connected to the closed mould.
  4. A measured amount of resin/catalyst mixture is pumped into the closed mould
  5. The resin mixture flows though the reinforcing material and encapsulates it
  6. The resin cures and sets hard after a set amount of time creating a hard composite material
  7. The closed mould is opened and a hard composite part is ejected.
